Escanaba Eagles host breakfast Sunday

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Eagles #1088 will serve breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18 at the Eagles Hall located at 608 Ludington Street in Escanaba.

Menu items will include scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, toast, hash browns, pancakes, French toast, coffee, milk, orange juice and more.

There is a fee to attend the breakfast. The public is welcome to attend. For more information, call the Eagles Club at 786-3451.

Elks Auxiliary dinner meeting March 1

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Elks Auxiliary will hold its monthly dinner/meeting on Thursday, March 1 at the Elks Lodge. Social time will be at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m., and meeting to follow. The meeting will feature a St. Patrick’s Day theme.

Reservations must be made by calling Shirley Gollach at 789-9306 by noon on Monday, Feb. 26. The automatic reservation list is in effect. Interested members are always welcome to attend.

Homeless shelter to change locations

ESCANABA — Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 S. Lincoln Rd in Escanaba, will be the next host site for Delta County’s rotating homeless shelter beginning this Sunday evening, Feb. 18. Volunteers are still needed for a number of shifts. To see where trained volunteers are needed, check www.HopeAtTheInn.org or call Chris 786-6771.

The next new volunteer training will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Christ the King Church, 1230 N. 18th St. in Escanaba. No pre-registration is needed.

Hope at the Inn operates from November through April each year. Donations are always needed and appreciated, and may be sent to HATI c/o The Salvation Army, PO Box 424, Escanaba, MI 49829, or call Mjr. Hansen at 786-0590.

Dance tonight at Amvets

ESCANABA — Amvets Post 123 at 1315 North Lincoln Road Escanaba are featuring the country band Classic Country 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. this coming Friday, Feb. 16. Guests are welcome to attend with a donation. Both veterans and the public are welcome.

Taco Tuesday hosted by Legion Post 71 returns

GLADSTONE — American Legion Post 71 welcomes the public to Taco Tuesday, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. each week at the Gladstone Legion Hall, 802 Delta Ave. Both hard and soft tacos are available, along with nachos and nachos supreme.

Kiwanis Club holds meeting Wednesday

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone – Rapid River Kiwanis Club holds weekly meetings every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 1212 Minneapolis Ave., Gladstone. Plan to attend a meeting and hear about on-going activities in support of community kids.

The Kiwanis Club welcomes new members who desire to support area children. If you are interested in helping to fill weekend food backpacks for the 152 school children who would have little or no food to eat on weekends without these backpacks, your assistance is welcome. Backpacks are filled each Wednesday, starting at 3 p.m. for four Gladstone Schools and the Rapid River School.
