Woman Ministries of Bethlehem Covenant Church

STEPHENSON — The Women Ministries of Bethlehem Covenant Church announces the release of the second edition of their church cookbook. First published in 2004, this new 2017 edition includes all the recipes from the first book plus more than 100 new recipes. With the edition, a complete index has been added to simplify finding favorite recipes.

A highlight of the book is the heritage section, which includes many old ethnic recipes — mostly in the Swedish tradition — passed on from earlier generations of the Bethlehem congregation. Also included are many stories of earlier days, especially as they center around activities in the old-time “church basement kitchen,” with memories of some who grew up in the Palestine area east of Stephenson.

The 292-page cookbook will make a lovely gift this Christmas season. Books may be purchased by contacting any member of the church or by calling the church office at 753-4405. Callers may leave a message with name and phone number, and a Woman Ministries member will contact you. The book is also available by mail order by sending a check to Bethlehem Covenant Church, Cookbook Project, N7907 Church Rd. J-3, Stephenson, MI 49887. Checks should be made payable to Women Ministries-BBC.
