Vicki (Volk) and Dennis McGaffigan

ESCANABA — Vicki (Volk) and Dennis McGaffigan celebrated 35 years of marriage on August 27.

The couple was married by Rev. Richard Venus, on August 27, 1988 at the Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, Michigan.

A 2-week honeymoon of hiking and camping was spent in Colorado; Yellowstone National Park in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming; and Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, both located in Utah.

Dennis was employed with the state of Michigan for 32 years, beginning in Adrian as a youth specialist and retiring from Bay Pines as a shift supervisor. Vicki worked as an archaeologist for 12 years, then taught Spanish for 25 years at Escanaba High School. Both retired in 2019.

An anniversary celebration was held on Mackinac Island at the historic Windermere Hotel.

The couple has 2 children, Robert of Tampa, Florida and Michael of Marquette, Michigan.
