Majestics ­celebrate 50 years of ­marriage

George and Sally (Anderson ) Majestic

RAPID RIVER — George and Sally Majestic are celebrating 50 years of marriage.

George Majestic, originally of Ensign Township, and the former Sally Anderson, originally of Escanaba, were wed Dec. 16, 1972 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Rapid River.

Attending the groom were Best Man Earl Groleau, the groom’s best friend; and groomsmen, Donald LaCrosse, Jr., the groom’s nephew; and John Anderson, brother of the bride.

Attending the bride were Maid of Honor Marsha (Anderson) Burroughs, sister of the bride, and bridesmaids Susan Anders, the bride’s sister-in-law; Jane McInerney, friend of the bride.

Also taking part in the ceremony were the bride’s son and daughter.

Lisa (Kyto) Majestic served as the flower girl, and David (Kyto) Majestic was the ring bearer.

An anniversary reception dinner party was held at the Terrace Bay Inn for family and friends. The event was hosted by the couple’s daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Steve Anderson. It featured a recorded violin performance by the couple’s grandson, Nick Majestic.

George worked at Clairmont Transfer Trucking Co. until 1985, then he worked for the city of Escanaba in the public works department until his retirement in 1997.

Sally worked for Escanaba Public Schools as a foreign language teachers for 31 years, retiring in 2002.

The couple enjoys numerous hobbies. George is a member of the YMCA, and enjoys feeding and watching deer and birds, yard work, and gaming. Sally is a member of MARSP, TOPS, and St. Anne’s prayer shawl ministry. She also enjoys flower gardening, reading, knitting and following her grandchildren’s activities.

Both of the Majestics are members of St. Charles Borromeo Church.

The couple’s children are Lisa Anderson, of West Branch, Mich. and David, who is deceased. They have five grandchildren, Brianne Keres, Haley Anderson, Josh Anderson, Nick Majestic, and Abby Majestic.
