Carey and Sharon Prey

HYDE — Carey and Sharon (Bittner) Prey were married 50 years ago on Oct. 23, 1971, at St. George’s Catholic Church in Bark River.

They celebrated their 50th with mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Escanaba and a reception and dance with family and friends at the Highland Golf Course, which was their original wedding venue.

They have two children, Bradley (Alison) of Green Bay, Wis., and Rachel (Curtis) Hirn of Gilbert, Ariz. They also have two grandchildren, Brenna and Tanner Prey.

Carey retired from Mead Paper in 2008 and Sharon from FrameCrafters Gallery in 2010. They enjoy spending their time with family, traveling and various hobbies.
