Chaudoirs celebrate 50 years of marriage

Mike and Gayle Chaudoir

ESCANABA — Mike and Gayle Chaudoir celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 24.

Both lifelong Yoopers, Mike is the son of George and Christine Chaudoir, and graduated from Holy Name in 1963. Gayle is one of fifteen children of Milton and Dolores Lauscher, and graduated from Perkins in 1970. The couple met soon after Mike was discharged from the U.S. Army, and were married at St. Anne’s Catholic Church on Sept. 24, 1971. They have since resided in Escanaba.

The happy couple retired together in January 2017. Mike spent most of his career in the grocery business, starting with Red Owl and ending with Advantage Sales & Marketing, while Gayle worked for nearly 30 years in the dietary department at OSF St. Francis Hospital.

Mike, a life member of the Escanaba Elks Club, was an avid golfer. For many summers, he played in the men’s league at Highland Golf Club. Meanwhile, Gayle enjoyed spending time with her mom and sisters at local bingo halls. Both Mike and Gayle also participated in bowling leagues at the Bowl-a-Rama for many years.

Today, Mike and Gayle enjoy spending time with family, especially supporting their grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities. They have two children, Scott Chaudoir of Rockford, Mich., and Mikki Devine of Antioch, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Brendan, Cassidy, Connor, and Anna.

Happy 50th Anniversary to Mike and Gayle!
