Claire and Charles Burton

BURTON — Claire (VanDamme) and Charles (Chuck) Burton celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 18, 2020 with their family. Chuck and Claire were married at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone by Father Matt LaViolette.

The couple have made their home in Gladstone over the last six decades. Claire worked for the Gladstone school system for 17 years, before retiring in 2000. Chuck served his country in the U.S. Army for two years. Following his honorable discharge, he began working for Harnischfeger and then Mead Paper Company, where he was employed for the next 32 years. They have both been retired for over 20 years.

Chuck and Claire have three daughters, Jo Ann Alexander, of Gladstone; Jackie Burton, of Sandpoint, Idaho; and Jeannie Woelffer, of Gladstone. They have six grandchildren, Patricia (Mitch) West, Laura Alexander, Anthony Alexander, Leigha Woelffer, Rachel McFadden and Lexi McFadden. They were blessed to welcome their first great-grandchild, William Alexander West, to the family in 2019.
