Webers celebrate 50 years of marriage

BARK RIVER — Dick and Denise Weber of Bark River, formerly of Escanaba, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently.

The couple was married on Jan. 3, 1970 at St. Patrick Church in Escanaba. Their original attendants were Elizabeth Roberts, sister-in-law; Diane Weber, sister; Dennis Weber, brother; and Greg Kern, friend.

An anniversary celebration was held at the Bark River Bible Church, with Pastor Brad Cochran, where they renewed their vows in front of children, grandchildren and friends.

Dick retired from the Air Force after 22 years in 1989, and Denise retired from Black Hills Gold in 1996. The couple enjoys camping, hiking, climbing, golf, bowling and exploring the wilderness. They are both members of Bark River Bible Church.

They are parents of Michelle Ray of Bark River and Richard Weber Jr. of Escanaba.
