ESCANABA — A big third inning made a world of difference for the Gladstone Major Little League (age 10-12) All-Stars here Monday night as they posted a 12-7 softball triumph over Iron Mountain North in the District 10 tournament. Esky defeated Iron Mountain North 11-6 and Gladstone eliminated Kingsford 4-1 at Lemerand Park. Gladstone faced Iron Mountain in an elimination contest Monday night. ESCANABA — A brother-sister combo from Reed City, Michigan were among the leaders in the Eighth Annual Stroke Awareness Run here Saturday morning. NORWAY — Six teams took to the diamond at Marion Park here Saturday as Gladstone defeated Tri-County 15-0, Kingsford rallied to beat Escanaba 4-2 and Iron Mountain defeated Norway 10-2. Gladstone jumped out to an early lead in the first inning as they scored five runs, two of them coming on a two-run single by Hank Doyen.
