Michigan legislators should make careful decisions about ICE

While I know that I am not a direct constituent of every office or an acquaintance of all reading this message, we are all Michiganders and Americans, and I respectfully ask that you consider my concerns outlined below and choose to contact all of our Michigan legislators in Washington. To my Michigan Senators and Representatives, I am deeply troubled by reports of ICE operations and treatment of individuals in other states. When I learned that Democratic presidents created significantly better economies than Republican presidents since World War II, I was sceptical. Medical professionals shouldn’t need a biology lesson

It is sad in the extreme when I hear a medical professional (OBGYN) testifying to Congress that she cannot answer yes or no to the question “is it possible for a man to have a baby” – posed in a number of ways. Her following statement could not confirm whether it is possible or not. Let’s be “sixth-grade simple” on this. On Jan. 6, I attended the Delta County Board of Commissioners reorganization meeting. On their agenda, under new business was the discussion regarding the position of the emergency management coordinator salary. Commissioner Kelli VanGinhoven made a motion for a salary of $72,000 for the emergency management coordinator job. Commissioners Matthew Jensen and Christine Williams of the finance committee wanted a salary of $69,000. Township residents should weigh in on Master Plan

As I talk with residents of Delta County, I realize that most do not know that Delta County is upgrading their Master Plan with a total rewrite through the planning commission. Don’t get this confused with the five-year park plan that the county is completing now. Master Plans are usually written for 20-year periods with reviews every five years.
