Hobby Lobby‘s concerns

EDITOR: As a seated county commissioner, I wanted to reach out to the voters of Escanaba and make them aware of a situation that could have a substantial impact on the quality of life right here in the city. Hobby Lobby corporation will pull out of this community, meaning they leave our mall if a marijuana dispensary goes in close to Dial Enterprise property. EDITOR: With the passage of an amendment to the Michigan constitution known as “Proposal 3”, many people were quite disturbed by its implications. EDITOR: On October 14, 2021, officers from Escanaba Department of Public Safety received a report of some fraudulent checks that were cashed by a Gladstone man at a local credit union. When confronted by law enforcement, the individual admitted he knew the checks he was depositing and cashing were not real. This individual already is a three-time convicted felon at the time of his arrest. EDITOR: I was raised to believe that there is right, and wrong — no in-between. Proposal 3 that was voted on and passed into law is definitely wrong.
