Spokesperson needed

EDITOR:

When there is news, there is usually a spokesperson that holds a press conference, or something similar. This gets the information out to the public, and usually there is a chance to ask questions. I would love to see something like that locally. I would even envision a short, TV or radio session where individuals could send in questions and then a spokesperson could get some of those questions and answer them on TV or radio. We have very little feedback to the city council or he planning commission or the county board. I know, there is general public comment at council meetings. If I have a question or problem, I bring it up in GPC, and the council members stare at their shoes. Okay, I can go to Bobaloon’s and confront Council Member Ammel. Not cool.

Someone, would be a “clearinghouse” for the questions. Then, the City Manager, or Mayor, or whoever, could take five or six questions and go on air and answer them. Explain the situations that had transpired that caused the council, or board, or commission to arrive at a certain decision.

At this point, there needs to be someone to clear the air about what is going on with the dispensaries. There is an awful lot of misinformation out there. Misinformed individuals who have heard some of what is going on, but then they don’t get the whole story and there is a lot of confusion. Same thing with the old jai site development. What is happening? The residents need to know. Not all of us can go to the meetings and there is no way to ask questions. Very few individuals read the newspaper and it is very difficult for some of us to watch on You Tube.
