Existential threat

EDITOR: Some people learned a new word. One that sounds scary. Existential - relating to existence. It is really an overused word that one would use to sound smart. If you are old enough to remember Howard Cosell, it would be one of his favorite words right now. The media loves the word. EDITOR: What do you need to be rescued from? Everybody needs to be rescued from something. During the holidays, especially, wounds and deep hurts seem to make themselves known at a higher level. If it is the first holiday without someone, perhaps the most difficult thing is to be alone with your own thoughts. EDITOR: Ignorance is alive and well in our newspapers, TV stations, etc. Exploiting the slaughter every year of our wildlife. Soon there will be no deer left after thousands are killed just like what happened to the bison, almost slaughtered into extinction. EDITOR: My sister called me and said “It’s down.” Not being the brightest bulb in the pack, I responded with, “What’s down?” She said “The Westwood.” Around 1934, August Boden (my grandfather) bought the restaurant on the west end of Delta Avenue. Domestic violence article was appreciated

EDITOR: I want to thank the Daily Press for the wonderful article written in last weekend’s edition spotlighting the domestic violence program put on by Tri-County Safe Harbor and held at Bay College on Oct. 25. Domestic Violence/Abuse is rampant and insidious and a very difficult topic to understand. I attended that event and found the speakers to be courageous and authentic; and thank you for the Q&A and the candlelight vigil.
