Patrol the border
EDITOR:
It doesn’t seem like a lot of people in this area or in the U.P., in general, care about what is happening to this country. 302,000 illegals crossed the southern border just last month! Take Green Bay and triple that. Every month. The Biden people say it’s the Republican’s fault. An Executive Order could stop it from happening. Laws are already there. We don’t need any new laws. Just allow the Boder Patrol to do it’s job — patrol the border. When I go in to Canada, I have to have ID, and an enhanced driver’s license or passport to get back into the U.S. If you are in Mexico, just walk across. You will be met with open arms, given food, clothing, a bus ride to wherever you want. If you are lucky, the feds will fly you wherever.
The population of the Upper Peninsula is about 300,000. The number that crossed last month, that were counted. Can you imagine if they all came here?
I don’t hear anybody, except me, voicing this concern and when I do, it falls on deaf ears. It’s the same reaction if it is anything political. They roll their eyes and sigh heavily. Sometimes they ask me why I care. I care because it becomes a problem for everyone when these immigrants get hotel rooms, health care and welfare because we are paying for it. The government has no money without our taxes; IRS, gas tax, tax on every license, etc.
“But weren’t we all immigrants? Yes, but most of us are multi-generational and came to the U.S. legally. The solution is easy; just stop allowing of those people to come across. Tell the Border Patrol to stop babysitting and registering illegals and patrol the border.
