EDITOR: The powerful letter from Mike Cousineau of Sept. 17, reminded me of the opening lines of a song from Janis Ian, “I learned the truth at 17, that love was meant for beauty queens…”. I recommend you listen or read the full lyrics… oh, and think “Homecoming Kings” as well. I rarely emote like this, but Mike implies (hope I’m right) that “someone isn’t showing love for someone else” and denies guidance and hope to the young girl. EDITOR: Unfortunately, political advertisements take on a level of hatred that is totally uncalled for, absolutely ridiculous. One yard sign suggested Trump is a parasite. November ballot

EDITOR: RFK Jr. dropped out of the presidential election race. He is not running. Why is the Michigan Secretary of State so fixated on keeping his name on the ballot? Have the ballots been printed two months in advance? I would guess not. There are too many variables to print that many ballots this far out. EDITOR: I am writing to express my concerns regarding the actions taken by the county board and the Parks and Recreation Department, particularly regarding Fuller Park. Your claims of fiscal responsibility seem to contradict recent decisions, especially the proposal to spend $75,000 on a pavilion, and parking lot on undeveloped land. Building a pavilion in the area proposed between the day-use and camping sections is not only financially imprudent but also environmentally disruptive. EDITOR: Here we are two months from election. Political signs on our lawns. Freedom of speech. And today found that our sign for Trump was stolen. Support YMCA pool effort

EDITOR: We are writing to express our support for the YMCA’s Capital Campaign project for a new swimming pool in our community. Currently, the YMCA is seeking substantial contributions from larger donors, yet we have not seen the level of support needed from local businesses and benefactors. We are in danger of losing our current pool due to its age and condition. Building a new pool now, while we still have the chance, is not just a matter of convenience but of foresight. When the current pool fails, the time needed to raise funds and construct a new facility would mean a ...
