The Michigan Education Association (MEA) celebrated the opening of its new office in Rapid River with a ribbon cutting on Feb 22. The new office is located at 10467 S. Main Street, Rapid River — across from the Swallow Inn. MEA is a labor organization that represents educators and educational support professionals in the schools in Michigan. The building was purchased by MEA and will be used as a field office for the 24 units MEA represents in the 17B council area, which includes Menominee, Delta, Schoolcraft and Mackinac counties.
