Emeralds take first place in girls track meet

SAULT STE. MARIE — The Manistique girls opened their track and field season the way they wanted, earning top honors in the Fifth Annual Yooper Invitational here Saturday. Manistique scored 91 points, followed by Pickford 71 and Kalkaska 54 inside the Norris Center at Lake Superior State University. The Charlevoix boys ran away with the title by scoring 147½ points.
