Sentinels take down Eskymos in boys action

ESCANABA — The Eskymos came out with high energy here Tuesday but it was short-lived as they fell 84-44 to Marquette. The Sentinels led 21-17 after one quarter of play. In the second quarter Marquette outscored Escanaba 22-5 in the second quarter to take a 43-22 lead into the half. “I think we came out ready to play in the first quarter,” Eskymos coach Jake Berlinski said. “The game fell apart on us after that first quarter, but I have to give credit to Marquette. Norse women split New Year’s tournament games at St. Clair Community College

PORT HURON, MI – The Bay College Norse Women's Basketball Team (10-3) participated in the Skippers New Years Classic Tournament this weekend hosted by St. Clair County Community College. The Norse picked up a win over the host school by a score of 64-52 before dropping an 80-69 decision to Macomb Community College on Saturday. The Norse came out hot in the first game, hitting four of seven from three and converting 50% from the field in the opening quarter. PORT HURON, MI – The Bay College Norse Men's Basketball Team (11-2) won two hard-fought battles in the Skippers New Years Classic hosted by St. Clair Community College. In their first game they defeated the hosts by a score of 66-57. On Saturday they held of the Macomb Monarchs by a final score of 73-70.
