Braves defeat Hematites improve to 9-4

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Braves outscored the Ishpeming Hematites 24-6 in the second quarter on their way to a 69-52 triumph here Tuesday.
Gladstone junior Lonnie Davey had four 3-pointers in the second quarter and scored 14 of his 27 points in the second stanza. Sophomores Alex Prins and Will Inghram each had 18 points on the night for the Braves.
“It was a great team win for us,” Braves coach Jake Kiesby said. “Offensively we moved the ball well while staying aggressive. Alex did a great job of getting into the paint and finishing. Will was physical on thew boards and got a couple put backs but also drove in the paint for multiple strong finishes.
Grady Gauthier led the way for the Hematites with 13 points and John Wheeler added 11.
Gladstone won the JV game 63-41. Ryder Amis led the Braves with 13 points and Landon Davey had 12. Gladstone JV improves to 9-2.
