GLADSTONE — As the last month of the 2025 volleyball season winds down and teams prepare for the district tournaments, Daily Press sports writer Adam Hinch got the opportunity to catch up with Gladstone senior Addy Blowers to discuss a various number of topics.

Adam Hinch: When did you develop your love for the sport of volleyball?

Addy Blowers: I was in sixth grade but I didn’t get to play because the girls before us had too much drama. I finally got to play in seventh and eighth grade and really fell in love with the sport.

AH: What is your favorite sport between volleyball and basketball?

AB: That is a really tough question. I think for my life volleyball is more realistic but nothing will compare to last year’s basketball season.

AH: What do you like to do in your time away from sports?

AB: I like to hang out with my friends whenever I can and I like to hang out with my boyfriend.

AH: What kind of music do you like?

AB: I’m listening to a lot of Zach Bryan right now. I don’t really listen to rap mostly like 80s and 90s rock music.

AH: What is your favorite subject in school?

AB: Probably English but only with Mr. Landis.

AH: What is your favorite food?

AB: Tortellini.

AH: Do you have a favorite TV series.

AB: I like the show Stranger Things.

AH: What athletes inspired you growing up?

AB: I really liked watching Giannis Antetkounmpo and Stephen Curry.

AH: Are you a football fan and what is your favorite team?

AB: Yes I am. I like the Detroit Lions.

AH: What was your favorite moment of your sports career?

AB: Definitely winning districts last year that was a moment I will never forget and it gave me goosebumps when I reflected on that moment.

AH: If you could go anywhere on vacation where would you go?

AB: I would go to Jerusalem.

AH: Any plans for college yet?

AB: I’m going to Bay College for two years after high school.

AH: Are you looking to play sports at Bay College?

AB: I would love to play volleyball if I get an offer.
