Mathieson wins big on Hall of Fame night

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Motor Speedway inducted two more racers into the Hall of Fame here Saturday. Earl Iverson and Jake Valiquette were the two drivers to receive the honor.

In the exhibition vintage class, Ron Anderson picked up the heat and feature sweep. Derek LeBresh came in second and won the other heat race. Sam Slaga came in third and Dave Broeders and Terry Royer rounded out the top ten.

In the youth micro sprints, Tanner Rae came away with his fourth feature win of the season as well as a win in heat race action. Amelia Harf came in second and Colton Yelle put together his best race of the season coming home third. Wyatt Ammel and Abbie Lantagne rounded out the top five.

In the sportsman micro sprints class Dalton Gustavson came away with the feature win. Braxton Lundquist came in second and Nathan Viau finished third. Chase Richer and Macy Degnan rounded out the top five. Kristy Karl and Gage Heim won the heat races.

In the super modified class, it was the first leg of the triple crown race with Sands Speedway and Norway Speedway. Jesse Denome came away with the heat and feature sweep. Gunnar Hansen came in second and Scott Degnan came in third. Paul Hosking and Drake Degnan rounded out the top five.

In the 600 sprints, Chase Richer picked up the heat and feature sweep. Ethan Manninen came in second and Bentley Richer finished third. Logan Getzloff and Jayger Quinn rounded out the top five. 

In the sport modified class, Lonnie Dalgord picked up the feature win as well as a win in heat race action. Bradley Viau came in second and Matt Valiquette finished third. Robby Iverson and Rick Gustavson rounded out the top five. Jesse Denome and Matt Maki IV also had heat wins on the night.

In the street stocks, Eric Mathieson picked up the feature win. Paul Wagner came in second and Qwentin Johnsen finished third and won a heat race. Ben Buckland and Karter Koth rounded out the top five. Brayden Lundquist won the other heat race.

In the sport compacts, Mark Isley picked up the heat and feature sweep. Jared Demeuse came in second and Andrew VanDrese finished third. Brian VanDrese and Maci Lantagne rounded out the top five.
