Area ice racers battle in weekend action
GWINN — Local ice racer’s took to the track under the lights Saturday night at the Neil Sr. Memorial Raceway in Gwinn.
In the 50cc bike race Grayson Corkin took the feature win as well as the win in heat race action. Nolan Stewart finished second coming from his fourth place starting position. Jase Kay came in third and Daniel Stewart and Lilah Wagner rounded out the top five.
The 65cc bike class had only two drivers competing, Chet Barto took the win and Corkin was the runner-up.
The 85cc bike race had five drivers in action Riley Bennett to the heat and feature sweep. Marty Sundholm came in second. Barto finished third and Henry Mallory and Levi Jacques completed the five racer field.
In the A-Rubber quad class, Sam Rasmussen won the feature race as well as the heat race where he came from a seventh place start to get the win. Ryan O’Dette finished second and won the other heat race. While Levi Leutz finished third. Eric Malmten came in fourth and Tyler Johnson rounded out the top five.
In the Outlaw Rubber class Rasmussen picked up his second sweep of the night winning his heat and feature races. Nathan Nelson came in second. O’Dette came in third and Johnson and Malmsten rounded out the top five. Leutz won the other heat race.
The kids 0-50 rubber quad class had Oliver Polequin pick up the feature win. Trae Nyquist came in second and won the heat race. Nolan Stewart finished third. While Noah Petrocik and Declan Devires rounded out the top five.
In the kids 0-100 rubber quad class Brooklyn Greenier picked up the heat and feature wins. Jeffery Sustarich finished second and won his heat race. Landon Harris finished third and Levi Jacques and Kynley Lindbert rounded out the top five.
In the kids 0-124 quad rubber class Riley Bower picked up the heat and feature sweep. Landon Harris came in second and Landyn Petrocik finished third. Brooklyn Greenier and Connor Thompson rounded out the top five.
In the A-Bike class Kyle Meiers took the feature win as well as the race. Evan Chouinard came in second and Robert Charles and Cole Pangbom rounded out the four bike field.
Meiers also picked up the win in the outlaw bike event over the runner-up Charles.
