ESCANABA — October is a month filled with opportunities for one to be filled with fear.
U.P.W. Pro Wrestling is no exception. The U.P.’s exclusive independent wrestling promotion is set to not only bring the fear, but will send fans into a nightmare for A Nightmare at the Chamber event at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Delta County Chamber of Commerce.
The seven-match card is filled with non-stop action.
U.P.W. Heavyweight Champion Sampson is set to defend his championship in a showdown with current TNA Impact superstar Big Kon. He also competed as Konnor, one half The Ascension, former WWE NXT Tag Team Champions.
U.P.W. American Champion J-Sin is also slated to defend his championship in one-on-one action. His opponent is none other than the “Neon Ninja” Facade, a 17-year veteran who’s appeared in nearly every wrestling promotion in the United States and beyond.
The winner of the matchup between Facade and J-Sin will have their next challenger revealed in a No. 1 contender’s match between Onyx Andretti and “Nerd Rage” Melvin Hayes. Andretti defeated Crystal Falls’ own Brian Skyline and Hayes earned a win over Spirit Squad Mikey via disqualification at September to Remember.
The promotion’s tag team championship will also be on the line on Saturday night. Reigning champions Ghetto Gear Solid will defend their championships against The Great Abuma and Jun Hado. Dani Mo and Zondra Lee will also go head-to-head in women’s action.
The Honorable Judge Jesse will also be in action in a triple threat clash against Trenary’s BJ Allen and Dann Jarris.
Long-time fans of U.P.W. will also receive a treat on Saturday night. U.P.W. Originals Slick Rick McCarthy and “Supreme” Brett Powers will be in tag team action against The Society, composed of Peter B (formerly Peter B. Beautiful) and The Dev.
Ringside tickets are sold out and few remain for remaining seats. Doors open at 6 p.m. for meet and greet with select wrestlers with matches beginning at 7 p.m.
Card is subject to change.
