Former Gladstone hoops coach Jack Ingalls dies at 85

ST. IGNACE – Former Gladstone High School boys basketball coach Jack Ingalls has died in St. Ignace. Ingalls was inducted into the U.P. Sports Hall of Fame in 2018. He spent 14 years at Gladstone and had an overall record of 263-159.

He was U.P. Class A-B coach of the year four times. He was interim girls BB coach at Gladstone in 1997. He also served as a volunteer coach for his daughter-in-law Dorene Ingalls.

He also coached track, football and Little League baseball in Gladstone. He helped the Petoskey Eagles with the Class C fastpitch softball title and helped Beymer-Bain win a Class D state softball title.

His son, Doug Ingalls, is a 2024 inductee in the UPSHF and was an all-state basketball selection at Gladstone.
