Hall of Fame night outlasts the rain

ESCANABA — Two rounds of rain was not enough to stop Escanaba Speedway and its crew from its Hall of Fame Night on Saturday. Boyd Widdis and Dick Cool were inducted into the second Hall of Fame Class at Escanaba Speedway. In the exhibition vintage modifieds, Kevin Lustila took the feature win with Dave Broeders coming in second and Terry Royer finishing third. Ron Anderson and Abi Yelle rounded out your top five. Broeders and Lustila were heat race winners. Scott Degnan picked up a heat and feature sweep Saturday night in the super Modified class. Rick Ness came away with a second place finish and his son Drake Degnan finished third. Fourth place went to Gunnar Hansen and fifth place went to Jesse Denome. Only two cars started the youth micro sprints feature with Amelia Hart taking the win and Wyatt Ammel coming in second. Hart also picked up the heat win Saturday night. Griffin Iverson picked up a sweep on Saturday winning his heat and the feature. Second place went to Macy Degnan, third spot went to Ethan Juhola which is his third top five in as many weeks. Kristy Karl came in fourth and Braxton Lundquist came in fifth. Ethan Manninen followed up last week’s win with another trip to victory lane after winning his second consecutive feature on Saturday night. The second spot went to Paul Hosking and Logan Getzloff came in third. Chase Richer and his brother Bentley Richer finished fourth and fifth in the feature. Robert Buttry won the heat race. In the sport modifieds Anthony Harper picked up the feature win with Bradley Viau coming in second and Jesse Denome finishing in third. Matt Valiquette came in fourth and won his heat race. Evin Gagne finished fifth in the feature race. Kyle Johnson and Doug Belongia Jr. also won heat races. Tombo Waselesky picked up the feature win in sport compacts with Dominick Lantagne coming in second and Mark Isley finishing third. Tanner Olson came in fourth and won the heat race and Ron Borchert finished in fifth. Jason Piron made it three in a row as he picked up the feature win in the street stocks after a battle with second place finisher Eric Mathieson. Brayden Lundquist finished third and Paul Wagner and Jimmy Reath rounded out the top five. Nathan Price and Dan Mathieson were your heat winners.
