Darmogray, five others earn All-Conference honors for Bay baseball

ESCANABA – The MCCAA released the All-Conference Teams for the 2024 season. Six Norse players received honors, including Zach Gibson (FR, Nassau, Bahamas) and Lorenzo Feliciano (FR, Deerfield Beach, FL) being named to the All-MCCAA Team.

The All-MCCAA Team recognizes the top 27 student-athletes. Gibson and Feliciano are the first ever from Bay College to receive the honor.

Gibson was also named to the MCCAA Northern Conference First Team as well as the Northern Conference All-Freshman Team. He hit .358 for the season with a .447 on base percentage and a .642 slugging percentage. Zach tied for the team lead in hits (38). He led the team with seven home runs, 31 runs scored, and 35 RBI. He also had nine doubles.

Feliciano also was named to the Northern Conference First Team and All-Freshman Team. Feliciano hit .327 for the Norse and had a .393 on base percentage. Lorenzo stole 11 bases this season. He was also a mainstay in the starting rotation for Bay picking up a 5-3 record in eight starts, two of which were complete game efforts. He finished the season with a 3.96 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. He struck out 40 batters and walked just 18 in 38.2 innings pitched.

George Cooper (FR, Eltham, Australia) was selected as Bay’s lone representative on the Northern Conference Second Team. He was also named to the All-Freshman Team. Cooper finished with a .307 batting average and a .554 slugging percentage. He led the team in doubles with 11 and slugged four home runs. Cooper also stole six bases. George was also one of the Norse starting pitchers, picking up eight starts and ten appearances. He was 4-3 on the year and struck out 43 hitters in 46.1 innings pitched. He finished with a 5.05 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP.

The Norse had three honorees on the Northern Conference Honorable Mention list. Josh Blake (SO, Seffner, FL) was an excellent defensive third baseman this season for the Norse. He led the team with a .362 batting average and had a .418 on base percentage and a .533 slugging percentage. He finished tied for the most hits on the team with 38 and had nine doubles and three home runs. He scored 25 runs for the Norse this season.

Tyler Darmogray (FR, Gladstone, MI) was also named Northern Conference Honorable Mention. Tyler was a middle infielder for the Norse this season and ended up with a .361 batting average. He had the highest on base percentage on the team with a .489. He picked up 26 hits in 72 at bats, four doubles, and a triple. He walked 15 times and also stole a team leading 13 bases. He was caught just three times which is good for a 81.3% stolen base rate. Tyler also made five appearances on the mound for Bay, including two starts. He picked up a save and struck out 11 batters in 16.2 innings of work.

Rounding out the All-Conference Honorable Mention list for Bay was Zac Gomersall (SO, Perth Australia). Zac led the team in at bats for the season (122) and racked up a .295 batting average. He boasted a .353 on base percentage and a .426 slugging percentage. Zac had five doubles, one triple, two home runs, 20 RBI, and stole five bases. As a relief pitcher he made five appearances and had a win and a save. He struck out ten in nine innings of work and had a 1.22 WHIP.
