RUDYARD –Lucas Hall was sharp, and three RBI days from Ethan Ives and Ben Shiverski paved the way for Bark River-Harris to play one more game.

The Broncos knocked off Pickford 14-3 in district quarterfinal in Rudyard on Tuesday.

Troy Johnson broke the silence with a RBI single in the second. Down to the final out of the inning Ives swung on the first pitch he saw.

He didn’t miss, connecting for a three-run double and a 4-0 Bronco lead.

With the advantage up to 5-0 thanks to a RBI sacrifice fly from Hall in the third, the Broncos were let out to roam across the field in the fourth. With a RBI double from Jacob Mileski, a RBI single from Ben Shiverski, a RBI sacrifice fly from Manny Oswald, a RBI groundout from Johnson and RBI single from Dane Schmitt BR-H ballooned its lead to 10-0. Shverski added a two-run double in the sixth for added insurance.

Hall kept the Panthers at bay for the majority of Tuesday’s action, needing 18 pitches to maneuver through the first two innings.

The Panthers added pressure in the third. Hall earned a swinging strike three and a fly out, but coughed up a singe and hit a batter with two outs.

Hall escaped the threat with a weak ground ball out to Shiverski behind the plate to extinguish the threat.

Hall allowed three earned runs off five hits with a walk and six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings of work. Johnson went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The Broncos face Brimley at noon Friday in Rudyard for district semifinal action.

Starting at $2.99/week.
