FAIR HAVEN –Gladstone softball made another trip over the bridge for non-conference action this weekend.

Here’s what went down:

Anchor Bay 13, Gladstone 1

Friday’s lone game saw the Braves muster six hits and commit five errors against Anchor Bay, a school nearly five times the enrollment of Gladstone.

Sam Drielick drove in the Braves’ lone run off a fielder’s choice in the fifth inning.

Montgomery Pepin finished 2-for-3 from the plate and allowed 13 runs (five earned) off six hits with five walks and three strikeouts in four innings of action from the circle.

St. Clair 8, Gladstone 4

The Braves and Saint battles for three innings, resulting in a 2-2 tie.

Then Pepin walked the first two batters she faced in the fourth. The Saint drove in both runs, but they came off a trade for outs. St. Clair scored on sacrifice fly and a ground out for a 4-2 lead and two outs.

Pepin walked the next three batters, resulting the Braves swapping her out for Rylee Gerow. She forced ground balls, but Gladstone committed two of its four errors during the first two batters Gerow faced. She ultimately got out of the jam, but the Saints led 8-2.

Lauren Sundquist mashed a two-run home run, but it wasn’t enough to match St. Clair’s big inning.

Gerow and Madison Sundquist added RBI hits.

Pepin allowed seven runs (three earned) off two hits while issuing eight walks and striking out three in 3 2/3 innings in the circle.

Lakeland 9, Gladstone 1

Gladstone drew first blood thanks to a RBI groundout from Gerow. It was also the ony run they scratched across in the loss.

Pepin allowed three earned runs with four walks in 1/3 inning from the circle. Gerow gave up six earned runs off seven hits with a walks and a strikeout in 4 2/3 innings of relief.

Lauren and Madison Sundquist each earned a base hit.

The Braves scratched across their lone run on a bases loaded groundout from Madison Sundquist in the fourth.

Pepin allowed three earned runs with five walks and a strikeout across 2 1/3 hitless innings. Gerow allowed three runs (one earned) off three hits with a walk and a strikeout.
