GREEN BAY, Wis. –To round off five games in four days, Escanaba baseball tripped to Green Bay this weekend for matchups against GB Notre Dame and Appleton North.

Here’s what went down:

GB Notre Dame 7, Escanaba 0

The Eskymos were bottled to three hits in Friday’s loss to the Tritons. Chase Cloutier finished 2-for-3 and Mikaiden Hughes added a base hit.

Lennox Peacock took the loss, allowing four runs (two earned) off nine hits with four walks and five strikeouts across five innings. Freshman Brody Ison allowed three runs (two earned) off two hits with two walks in an inning of relief.

Appleton North 11, Eskymos 10

The Eskymos captired a 3-2 lead over the Lightning midway through the second thanks to a two-run home from Hughes and a run from Peacock off an error.

Appleton North carried a 9-4 lead into the sixth inning. Esky shaved it down to three runs off a bases loaded walk to Bink and a sacrifice fly by Peacock scores Hughes.

With the lead ballooned to 10-6 entering the top of the seventh Esky had to strike quick, and often.

It did just that. Hughes belted a RBI single to make it 10-7. Ison delivered a double to right field with tow men on. LaChance scored from third, but Hughes was thrown out at home plate trying to score from first.

After Bink drew a walk on four-straight pitches, Peacock came up to the plate. He drove the 3-1 into centerfield and advanced to second on an error. More importantly, Ison and Bink scored.

The game was tied 10-10.

The Lightning walked off the win in a shallow fly ball to center which scored a runner from second base.

Hughes finished 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Ison finished 2-for-3 with a triple, double RBI and run scored.

LaChance finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and three runs scored. Chase Cloutier finished 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored. Peacock added three RBI and a run scored. Bink added an RBI, one run scored and committed both of Esky’s errors.

LaChance took the loss, surrendering the lone run in the seventh with one hit, one walk and one strikeout in 1/3 inning of work. Ben Johnson allowed seven runs (two earned) off seven hits with a walk and two strikeouts in two innings of work. Cannon Arnt allowed three earned runs off seven hits with two walks and three punchouts in four innings of relief.

The Eskymos host Marquette for a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. Monday.
