WELLS–Similar to last weekend against id Michigan College, Bay College softball dropped three of four games. This time it was to Delta College

Here’s what went down:

Delta 11, Bay 10

Bay claimed a 2-1 lead after two off a Pioneers’ error and RBI groundout from Izzy Drabant. Detla bounced back to claim a 7-2 lead midway through five.

The Norse had a rebuttal.

Off of two-run doubles from Hailee Duquaine and Lexie Resseguie and a bases loaded walk, the Norse tied the game at seven entering the sixth frame.

Delta tacked on three in the sixth and one in the seventh to take an 11-7 lead entering last call for the Norse. Zoe Rumble came up with an RBI single to cut the deficit down to four. Emma Rutter hit a RBI single to cut the deficit to two runs. Ava Mottin scored on a passed ball to make it 11-10. But that’s as close at the Norse got in the loss.

Rumble finished 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored. Allie Radcliffe finished 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Drabant took the loss, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) off eight hits with four walks and six strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. Duquaine allowed one earned run off one hit in 1 2/3 innings of relief.

Delta 4, Bay 3

Bay jumped ahead 1-0 off a RBI single from Resseguie in the first. The Pioneers re-captured the lead in the top of the fifth at 2-1 and made it 4-1 midway through six.

Bay had runners on second and third with two outs for Rumble, but she took strike three to end the game.

Duquaine and Sierra Jones finished with two hits each.

Bay 5, Delta 2

After back-to-back rallies that fell short, the Norse claimed a win in the series.

After taking strike three to end Friday’s finale, Rumble wasted no time starting the Norse offense on Saturday, tattooing the first pitch she saw over the fence in centerfield. Bay added two more runs in the frame off a Delta error and sacrifice fly from Desiree Bender to lead 3-0 midway through two innings.

The Norse tacked on two more runs in the fifth off a sacrifice fly from Drabant and a RBI single from Amara Martinez.
