Escanaba hockey earns road win
GREEN BAY — Junior Graham Johnson tallied four points in Escanaba hockey’s 4-1 road win over Green Bay Ashwaubenon on Tuesday.
Johnson broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the second period after receiving a pass from senior captain Brett Labre to take a 2-1 lead. Johnson kicked off the scoring in the third period with an unassisted shorthanded goal, giving the Eskymos a curical insurace goal with a 3-1 lead. Labre notched a power play goal late in the third, with assists from Johnson and junior Cole Carter, to take a decisive 4-1 lead.
Carter also netted the game’s first goal with assists from Johnson and senior Isaac Boyce. Sophomore goalkeeper Cully Hayes stopped 20 of 21 shots.
The Eskymos host Hancock at 7 p.m. Friday.
