Carney-Nadeu girls defeat Wolverines
ST. NICHOLAS — The Carney-Nadeau girls gained the upper hand early here Friday night in a 56-19 basketball triumph over the Mid Peninsula Wolverines.
C-N led 17-2 after the first quarter and 28-7 at halftime.
Mariska Laurila led the Wolves (2-0) with 15 points. Grace Maule and Shae Linder added 13 each.
Mary McNally scored six for the Wolverines in their season-opener.
The Wolves 24-of-67 field goals and Mid Pen was 7-of-42 from the field.
Mid Pen, which won the jayvee contest 37-36, hosts Hannahville tonight at 6. The Wolves visit Forest Park tonight at 8.
