Oaks men

GLADSTONE — Mike Kallio and Tim Shea each shot 37 to lead the Oaks Men’s League Wednesday night in Gladstone.

Fred Breitzman, Randy Eis and Kevin Vogel 38 and Dick Smith and Charlie Stafford 39 were the remaining under 40 scores.

GGC two-woman scramble results

GLADSTONE — Karen Plaiser and Dian Frustcua carded 71 to win a two-woman scramble held by the Gladstone Golf Club Thursday.

The teams of Holly Canull & Lisa Ponzio and Mary Bergman & Robin Schwartz both shot 78 with Canull and Ponzio being awarded second place.

In the first flight, the top three teams were Deb Lordson & Morgan Whitehead 82, Vickie Isaacson & Marsha Skellenger 85 and Linda Stanaway & Connie Moffatt 89.

Stanaway also aced the 3-par — 90 yard — hole 17.

GGC hole in one

GLADSTONE — Brad Deno aced the hole 12, par-4 Thursday at the Gladstone Golf Club.

He has also scored two holes in one on hole 11, a par-3.

ECC women

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Country Club Women’s League was led this week by Connie Kangas who shot 39.

Barb Scott and Wendy Bratonia followed at 42 and Jessica Bray and Paula Gustafson at 44.

The rest of the under 50 scores were Kara Pasco and Amanda Bink at 46, Crissy Strom, Abbey Strom and Anne Marie Porath at 47, Karen Kelly, Laurie Johnson, Sharon Nelson and Rose Fisher at 48 and Cambria Hughes and Dianne Cannon at 49.

Highland women

HYDE — Rachael Latta carded 40 Wednesday night to lead the Highland Women’s League this week in Hyde.

Behind Latta was Rose Peltier 44 and Anna Larson 45.

Karen Ettenhoffer 47, Nicky Hosking 48 and Denise Porath and Anne Okonek at 49 rounded out the scores.

open registration

ESCANABA — Registration is now open for the 74th Annual Michigan-Wisconsin Tennis Open which will take place on area tennis courts August 7 and 8.

Entry forms for singles (20 dollars) or doubles (24 dollars per team) can be found online at www.escanaba.org or at the Escanaba Civic Center.

Entry forms must be mailed to the Escanaba Recreation Department, P.O. box 948, Escanaba MI, 49829. Checks must be made payable to Esky Tennis.
