HARRIS — It was a successful season opener for the Bark River-Harris Broncos girls basketball team Monday night as they defeated the Stephenson Eagles 54-42 in Harris.

Allison Richer led the Broncos in scoring with 20 points, including three threes — she had four total — in the first quarter.

Coach Matt Richer also gave the nod to Morgan Cappaerat as a strong asset for the Broncos.

The Broncos visit Superior Central Thursday.
