Jets volleyball can’t keep streak going

POWERS — Coming off of their first win in two years, the North Central Jets volleyball team hosted North Dickinson in Skyline Central Conference action Thursday night. The Nordics defeated NC in straight sets 3-0 (25-9,25-12,25-15).

“We knew that North Central just came off a big win and would have some momentum coming into this game.

We wanted to make sure we started off strong and we did,” said North Dickinson coach Taylor Johnson.

“Ashton Hord had a stellar game all around, and Vanessa Lindholm had her best night setting yet,” added Johnson. “The back row was able to get her some nice passes in order to move the ball and get everyone really into the game. Our fundamentals were sound throughout the match.”

The Nordics had a strong serving night as well, totaling 18 aces. Micah Lindholm, Kassandra Cary, and Kendra Mayo finished the night with one-hundred percent serving.

North Central travels to Mid Peninsula on Thursday, while the Nordics are off until traveling to Munising on Thursday.

The next opponent for both teams will be a Skyline Central Conference match.
