Bay women cruise in finale

CHICAGO — The Bay College women finished their regular season in style, breaking the century mark in a 108-49 basketball victory over Harry S. Truman College Saturday in Chicago.

All 12 players scored for the Norse (17-10), who led 34-9 at the end of the first quarter and 63-20 at halftime.

Brooke Dalgord led the way with 16 points and six rebounds, while Madison Olsen also had 16 points. Trish McGuire hit 11, while Kaitlyn Hardwick and Holly Wardynski each chipped in 10. Haley Trudell tripled three times in the first quarter to finish with nine points before leaving with an ankle injury.

Krisha Haywood led the Falcons with 17 points.

The Norse shot 47 for 84 from the field for 56%, held a 44-33 rebounding advantage and committed nine turnovers. The Falcons (2-12), with just five available players, shot 17 for 56 and committed 30 turnovers.

The Norse host Gogebic Community College in the East Sub-Region 13 championship game Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.
