Bay men win season finale

CHICAGO — The Bay College men wrapped up their regular season with a 71-64 basketball victory over Harry S. Truman College Saturday in Chicago.

The Norse led 35-28 at the half, then had to fight to hold off the Falcons (7-19) down the stretch.

Chris Dobessi had a monster afternoon to lead the Norse, finishing with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Ryan Robinette added 14 points and six boards, while Matt Wagner scored 13 points and Marcus Harris chipped in 11 off the bench.

Raymond Grant led the Falcons with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Bay (19-9) was able to pull out the win despite shooting 21 for 58, being outrebounded 57-43 and committing 15 turnovers. The Falcons shot 23 for 76 and had 13 miscues.

The Norse host the winner of Gogebic Community College and Dakota County Technical College in the East Sub-Region 13 championship game Feb. 26 at 8 p.m.
