Braves fall to the Sault on Senior Day
ESCANABA — Senior Levi Seaman made the most of Senior Day, becoming Gladstone’s lone winner by taking first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:20.48 during a dual swim meet with Sault Ste. Marie at the YMCA Friday.
“This is his first year on the team and he has come a long way from the beginning of the season,” Braves coach Tom Desy said. “He is a fast learner and works hard and his breaststroke is getting faster.”
The Braves, however, fell to the Blue Devils 112-39 on the boys side and 126-40 on the girls side.
Junior Alexis Marenger was the biggest standout on the girls team, finishing second in butterfly (1:15.62) by taking three seconds off of her time.
“The kids swam good today,” Desy said. “Alexis Marenger had a nice meet, taking second in the 100 butterfly.”
