Hunter Eichhorn

ESCANABA — Hunter Eichhorn of Carney finished in a tie for 26th Wednesday in the Sun Bowl Classic at El Paso, Tex. Country Club.

Eichhorn, a junior at Marquette University, finished 1-over-par 214 with rounds of 70-69-75.

Eichhorn was tied for first place after nine holes with birdies on five of his opening eight holes. But a quadruple bogey on the back nine set him back.

Ludvig Aberg of Texas Tech, a native of Sweden, won the tournament with a minus-13 at 200.

Eichhorn was Big East golfer of the week four times during the 2019 fall season.
