ENGADINE — The Rapid River Rockets dropped a 48-28 eight-player football decision to fourth-ranked Engadine here Thursday. Other details weren’t available.

NEGAUNEE — The Escanaba seventh and eighth-grade girls’ basketball teams each rallied for wins in the fourth quarter over Negaunee here Thursday.

The seventh-graders won 42-36 behind 16 points from Grayson LaMarche and 10 from McKenzie Engbretson. Libby Schmeltz and Maddie Beaudry each hit six for Negaunee.

Keira Maki scored 41 points and Saylor Henderson added 18 to lead the eighth-graders to a 75-50 win. Madison Frustaglio had 25 and Delaney Lenten added 10 for Neguanee.

“The games were very exciting and the fans enjoyed four really good teams battling for four quarters,” Esky coach Tracy Hudson said.

Escanaba plays at Gladstone Tuesday.
