Jets coast to 71-0 victory

ONTONAGON — The top-ranked North Central Jets traveled to Ontonagon Friday night and built a 71-0 halftime lead, causing Ontonagon to forfeit at halftime.

Noah Gorzinski was responsible for seven of the Jets’ touchdowns. He threw for five and ran for two more while also passing two successful two-point conversions and running one in. Luke Gorzinski passed for two touchdowns and caught two more while also adding a two-point conversion on a run. Cole Timblin ran in a touchdown and added two two-point conversion receptions. Zach Strahl was 2-for-5 on extra point attempts.

“(We’re) happy to get out with the win and go home healthy,” Jets’ coach Leo Gorzinski told the Iron Mountain Daily News. “Noah played really well and the defense flew around. I was able to give a lot of guys different looks, and I am proud of our guys for executing and playing classy football.

“Hats off to the Ontonagon kids for standing up and battling. Unfortunately, they had a couple injuries and that put them on the verge of jeopardizing their season.”

North Central (4-0) visits North Dickinson Thursday night.
