AUSTIN, Tex. — The University of Marquette matched its pre-regional seed by finishing eighth at the NCAA men’s golf regional here Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles were led by Hunter Eichhorn, a sophomore who prepped at Carney-Nadeau High School. Eichhorn tied for 18th place with rounds of 73-72-71 – 216.

It was Eichhorn’s second NCAA regional appearance. He tied for 25th as a freshman last year with 219.

Marquette seniors Austin Kendziorski and Oliver Farrell tied for 20th and 32nd, respectively, at 217 and 220.
