ESCANABA — It is yet to be determined if Sydney Herioux is the valedictorian at Gladstone High School. Due to information received, Herioux was referred to as the valedictorian in an article in Monday’s edition of the Daily Press.

Golf League scores

GLADSTONE — Scott Neurohr shot a 73 at the Gladstone Golf Men’s 18-hole Senior Morning League Monday. Neurohr was followed by Steve Bratonia (74), Pete Stropich (77), Kelly Shea (77), Kim Clouse (79), Bob Skellenger (79) and Gene Folcik (79).

Joe Quinn shot a 33 in the afternoon 9-hole Men’s League. Quinn was followed by Marty (Oge) Kallio (36), Hunter Way (37), Korey Smith (38) and Benji Malnar (39).

GLADSTONE — Denise Wilson shot a 43 on nine holes at the the Tuesday night Ladies’ League at the Terrace Bluff. Wilson was followed by Margie Movalson (44), Betty Fleury (45), Geri Nelson (46), Christine Nelson (46), Julie Mayville (46), Amy Stupak (47), Caron Salo (48), Judy LaFleur (48), Jeanne O’Donnell (49), Patty Delveaux (49) and Juanita Selin (49).

BMX open house

MARQUETTE — Marquette BMX, the Upper Peninsula’s only USA BMX sanctioned race track, is holding an open house Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The track is located at 910 Hawley St., Marquette, inside the Kaufman Sports Complex.

No racing will take place, but interested cyclists of all ages and skill levels and their families are welcome to see the facility and ask questions about this Olympic sport. Parents of children between age 2 and 5 are also invited to learn about Strider racing, a special class that teaches balance and coordination before children transition to pedal bikes.
