TimberStone to
open Friday
IRON MOUNTAIN — Pine Mountain Resort’s TimberStone opens Friday for the 2019 season. Golf Digest magazine has selected TimberStone as one of the top 24 golf courses to play in the United States.
Firecracker Run
GLADSTONE — The Fran Cannon 5 mile run/2.5 mile walk, hosted by the Gladstone-Rapid River Kiwanis, is July 4 at 8 a.m. Timing will be done by Superior Timing of Marquette. There is also a one mile fun run for kids age 12 and under.

GLADSTONE — Erik Spindler shot a 36 in the Terrace Bluff Men’s League Monday. He was followed by John Kositzke and Rich Hubert, Jr. at 39.

BARK RIVER — Jim Wagner of Marinette Little River Golf Club and Tim Kramer and Steve Schmidt of Menominee Riverside gained medalist honors in the 64 and under division with 55 strokes in the Sweetgrass Golf Club three-man scramble here Monday.
Paul Schrader of Escanaba and Dave Jahn and Gary Sharp of Sault Ste. Marie were runners-up at 58.
Denny McAllister of Wausaukee, Wis., Dave Larson of Marinette and Dave Wernicke of Pound, Wis. were medalists in 65 and over, two strokes better than Keith Nelson of Peshtigo, Wis. and Mark Aubry and Pete Ninnemann of Wausaukee.
