Two Esky bowlers finish top 5 at championships

ESCANABA — Two Escanaba Eskymos finished in the top five at the Upper Peninsula Girls’ Singles Bowling Championships Saturday at Bowl-a-rama Lanes.

Dakota Cloutier placed third, hitting 1,125 pins through six games. She lost to Lexi Jacko of Iron Mountain.

Lindsey Juhl was fifth with 1,048. Juhl defeated Kaylee Reader of Marquette 334-326, then fell to Megan Wilkins of Ishpeming in the second round.

Macy Leisenring finished 11th with 938 and Gabi Salo came in 14th with 923. Cloutier and Solo faced each other, with Cloutier winning. Leisenring also lost to Jacko.

Other top finishers from Esky were Kaylee Casey in 20th, Mackenzie Rickel 22nd, Jasmine Liukkonen 27th, Adrina Busick 39th, Brooke Sliva 41st and Rosalynn Smith 45th.

Esky heads to Ishpeming for U.P. Team Finals Saturday.
