Arsenault, Jets scorch Knights

Andie Arsenault

POWERS — Sophomore Andie Arsemauit “was on fire” here Thursday night according to North Central coach Lee Vincent. Arsenault had a career-high 30 points to power the Jets to a 63-41 victory over Norway.

Arsenault had five triples and 14 points in the second quarter, when the Jets used a 14-5 outburst to open a 31-19 halftime lead in the Skyline Central Conference girls basketball game.

Vincent said Arsenault “was shooting them from back there. She handles the ball and works great without the ball. She is very smart, an all-around player.

“The whole team played pretty good defeense,” he noted.

The Jets started in a zone defense, thens switched to man-to-man “and we got some steals and wore them down a little bit. They only had seven players,” Vincent said. “We’re feisty. We’re not big. If we put it together we can beat any team.”

Chloe Wells had her second straight double-double for the Jets, with 14 points and 10 rebounds. “She has been hustling great and playing good defense,” said Vincent. He said Jadie Linder also had a solid game.

The Jets had 12 turnovers and both teams had 29 rebounds. The Jets hit 22-of-50 field goals.

The Jets, who won the jayvee game, host Superior Central tonight.
