NMU quint sweeps
MARQUETTE — Every player scored Thursday as the Northern Michigan University men’s basketball team whipped Purdue Northwest 108-69.
It is the most points NMU has scored against a Divisioin II opponent since equalling that mark against Wayne State in 1993-94.
Naba Echols led the Wildcats (7-1) with 20 points and nine assists. Isaiah Johnson added 17 points and Myles Howard had 12 points and a team-best nine rebounds and Sam Taylor also had 12 points.
The NMU women beat Purdue NW 76-38 by building a 40-14 halftime advantage.
Darby Youngstrom led the Wildcats (8-2) with 16 points and Erin Honkala had 11 rebounds.
