CARNEY — The Carney-Nadeau Wolves benefitted from a strong serving night Tuesday in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-7, 25-7) volleyball triumph over the North Central Jets.

Alanis Harris led the Wolves with an 11-point service run in the third set. She and Liana Blahnik hit six-points runs in the second.

The Wolves finished with 25 aces, including 10 by Harrisk.

“I thought we were serving pretty well, which definitely kept them off balance,” said C-N coach Steve Kedsch. “Give North Central credit. They were passing the ball and keeping it in play. They got a couple good shots on us.”

Andie Arsenault had 10 digs and Bre Arsenault eight for the Jets.

“I think our girls showed their potential in the first set,” said Jets’ coach Lynn Britton. “I think the girls have the tools to be great. Only, we need to work on our execution. Our communication in the first set was real good, too. It’s nice they were able to boost their own morale.

“Carney has real good servers. A lot of our passes were getting too close to the net and they were setting up their hitters to knock the ball down.”

The C-N jayvees clinched the Skyline Central Conference in a 25-7, 25-13 conquest, finishing 11-0 in the league.

Carney hosts Menominee in Thursday’s regular-season finale. The Jets host Rapid RIver for Parents’ Night Thursday and Forest Park in their Division 4 district opener Monday.
