Jets’ spikers spilled

MUNISING — Matching up with Munising was a difficult task for North Central Monday night as it dropped a 3-0 (25-8, 25-9, 25-13) volleyball decision to the Mustangs.

“They’re definitely a strong team,” said Jets’ coach Lynn Britton. “One of their girls had an amazing serve and our girls just couldn’t keep up. They had a pretty large crowd, but the girls overcame the crowd noise and stayed focused. We had some good volleys. We have only one senior this year. They have more experience than we do.”

Samantha DePatie led the Jets with six kills. Maddie Dani had 10 assists and five digs.

“Overall, it was a pretty rough night, but we stayed positive and focused on small goals,” said Britton.

The Jets, who dropped the jayvee match in two sets, host Carney-Nadeau Wednesday. Munising visits Superior Central Thursday.

The summary:

North Central — DePatie (one ace, six kills, two digs); Dani (three kills, 10 assists, five digs); A. Arsenault (one ace, three kills); B. Arsenault (three kills); Neville (two kills); Whitens (five assists, three digs).
