Broncos’ spikers sweep Black Bears

HARRIS — The Bark River-Harris Broncos swept Big Bay de Noc here Thursday. The Broncos won the volleyball match 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-10).

Madison Draze led BR-H with five aces and three kills. Lilian Stenberg and Makena Lockwood each added three kills.

The first couple sets were competitive before the Broncos (6-4) were able to win the third set decisively to finish the sweep.

Despite the loss, Black Bears’ coach Angie Paulson only had positive things to say.

“We played a lot better than we did Tuesday,” Paulson said.

“It’s nice to see what you can do when you get some momentum.One time tonight we had a volley where he hit it back and forth six or seven times. We have a really young team so it’s good to see us improving at the end of the year.”

Rylie Lawrence led the Black Bears with 18 digs, five kills and four assists. Meagan Yonker also had 18 digs, to go with four kills and four assists. Holli Stapleton chipped in with seven digs and three kills.
